The 2007 season was a nightmare for the Alpharetta Raiders. With the school’s first four-year graduating class and 25 seniors on the squad, expectations were understandably high. Unfortunately for Alpharetta, the season was over before it started.
A season ago the Blessed Trinity Titans spent their summer lifting weights outdoors. As the now-complete field house was under construction, the Titans were forced to improvise a weight room outside on the hill overlooking the football stadium. The set-up had its charm, but it also presented challenges.
If you’re looking for a nickname for Marcus Nabors, “The Bowling Ball” might fit the bill. If you look at the area on the football field between the hashmarks as the lane and opposing defensive linemen as the pins the name becomes downright perfect.

What a difference a year makes. Last fall Roswell headed into it’s football season with a vaunted senior class and a veteran coach. The Hornets were the co-defending state champs and were looking to run the table for a second straight year. Fast-forward to 2008. Upwards of 10 seniors from last year’s team are scattered throughout the country getting prepared for their college seasons, while the crafty former head coach is now playing golf and spending time with his family. So where does that leave the 2008 Hornets?
