Passing by the Wal-Mart on Mansell Road last week, you might have noticed a tent full of fireworks in the parking lot. Looking much like any number of such tents in the area before and during the July 4 celebrations, this tent was a little special. Along with fireworks, it was selling hope.

Noel R. Anderson, the senior pastor at Cross of Life Lutheran Church has retired. Anderson has held the post for the past 10 years. His retirement, effective July 1, 2008, was recently observed at a retirement celebration at the church, which is located at 1000 Hembree Road in Roswell.
It’s not everyday that North Fulton gets to play host to a Hollywood premiere. However that was exactly the case last Friday when the independent film “A Plumm Summer” opened at Startime Theater. Startime, the only theater in the eastern United States that will be showing the movie, was chosen as the premiere venue because one of the movie’s stars, former Alpharetta resident Lisa Guerrero, was familiar with the management there.
