October 26
   North Fulton 2008 Scout Cavalcade “Service to the Community” from NOON - 6 p.m. on the Roswell City Hall grounds and parking lots.  The event is free and open to the public.  
   Children will have an opportunity to traverse rope bridges, speed down zip lines, swing on tires and much more.  Roswell Fire and Police departments will be rolling out their rescue and crime-fighting equipment.  Candidates seeking office this election season will also be available for questions.  Food and beverages will be available on site.

October 28
   Mock Election for everyone under the age of 18 to be held from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Wexford subdivision clubhouse (located off of Hardscrabble Rd. in Roswell).
  2008Youthvote.com was organized by three area moms who wanted to give everyone under the age of 18 an opportunity to vote in a mock election.  The idea behind the mock election is to mimic the process of the national election in order to teach, model and practice good citizenship.

October 29
   Fall Tea and Fashion Show hosted by the Roswell Garden Club from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the Roswell Adult Recreation Center, 830 Grimes Bridge Rd.
   Fashions and accessories from Unique Consignment Boutique will be featured.
   The cost is $20 per person.  There will be door prizes and a raffle.  Funds raised to benefit community projects.

October 31
   Fall Fest 2008 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at Roswell Nursing and Rehab Center, 1109 Green St., Roswell.
   Everyone is welcome to this free and safe event.  Children are encouraged to wear there best costume and come ready for arts and crafts, tons of candy and prizes.

November 1
   9th Annual Mass of Remembrance at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 11330 Woodstock Rd., Roswell at 11 a.m.
   The mass is open to all and is an opportunity to celebrate the lives of deceased loved ones.

   Hike for History with Roswell Historical Society at 10 a.m.  Guides lead a group tour of the Mimosa Blvd. area with costumed interpreters at each stop.
   All ages, but no children without adult supervision.  The cost is $5 per person.

   Moravian Star Class from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at Bulloch Hall, 180 Bulloch Ave., Roswell.
   Make a stunning star Christmas tree ornament out of folded paper.

November 7 & 8
   23rd Annual Mt. Zion Craft Show from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Rd., Marietta.
   The show features 52 arts and crafts vendors, silent auction, bake sale, pictures with Santa and more.
   All proceeds benefit local and church charities.  There is no charge for admission.

   The Ludwig Symphony Orchestra will open its season with a gala concert at 4 p.m. at the Gwinnett Center Performing Arts Hall, entitled “A Fanciful Fall Festival with a touch of the orient and a twist of the middle east.”

   “15 Reasons Not to be in a Play” at 7 p.m. at ACT1 Theater, located in Alpharetta Presbyterian Church, 180 Academy St., Alpharetta.
   This is a play about not being in a play, ironically expressed through a hilarious series of monologues, duets and ensemble scenes.

   “The Woman In Black” presented on a “theatre in the round” at The Rosewater Theatre, 633 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Roswell.  
   “The Woman In Black” is considered one of the most gripping and chilling ghost stories of all time.
   Performances are every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.
   Tickets are $16 and $18 for evening performances and $15 for Sunday matinees.  All seats are general admission.

MUSIC
November 2
   Riverside Chamber Players will perform at 3 p.m. at Centennial High School, 9310 Scott Rd, Roswell.
   This concert of Russian music for strings will feature quartets by Alexander Borodin and the 20th Century composer Losif Andriasov.
   The program will be followed by a dessert reception with the musicians.

SPORTS
October 27
   7th Annual Charity Golf Outing sponsored by the Roswell Lions Club at The Golf Club at Bradshaw Farm, 3330 Bradshaw Club Dr., Woodstock.
   Registration begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at NOON.  Buffet dinner and prizes after the tournament.
   The cost is $150 per player or $500 for a foursome.

   3rd Annual Dewayne Newton Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the Roswell Firefighters Foundation at Roswell Country Club, 2500 Club Springs Dr.
   Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.  Lunch and awards immediately after play.
   Individual player cost is $100 and includes greens fee, breakfast and lunch.  Enhanced sponsorship levels are also available.

   3rd Annual PurpleStride Atlanta sponsored by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at Grant Park.
   The event will feature a 5K run and walk, along with activities for teh whole family.  Participants will receive an event t-shirt and goody bag at the event.
   Registration begins at 9 a.m., 5K run starts at 10:30 a.m. and the 5K walk starts at 10:45 a.m.
   Online registration fee is $20 adults (12 and up), $10 children, under 5 years are free.  Pancreatic cancer patients and survivors participate free.  Entry fees are $25 adult and $15 children day of event.
