The Atlanta Workshop Players (AWP) Auditions at Atlanta Workshop Players’ Studio of the Arts, 8560 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Suite 111, Alpharetta.
AWP is a professional children’s theatre company and they are currently looking to fill three major upcoming artistic events. The AWP Tour Show (age 7 - adult), Punchline Kids Cabaret (age 6 - 18) and AWP’s Professional Training Program (age 9 - 18).

The Roswell Dance Theatre 2008-2009 performing dance company auditions will take place at the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance, 10400-D Alpharetta St., Roswell. The Roswell Dance Theatre has three performing divisions: Ballet, Jazz, Tap.

Riverside Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 8 a.m. - NOON at Riverside Park, 535 Riverside Dr., Roswell.
The market will concentrate on fresh, locally grown produce. Non profit organizations will be selling coffee and refreshments, local chefs are slated to appear and other fun activities are scheduled.

7th Annual Youth Fishing Derby hosted by the Alpharetta Recreation & Parks Department from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the lake near Brookside Office Park (east of GA 400 on Old Milton Pkwy).
Children ages 5 - 12 are invited to test their fishing skills. Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish and the most fish caught.
Participants should bring fishing gear and bait. Pre-registration is required. Admission is free.

The market will feature homegrown produce, honey and more.
10% of all sales will be donated to Canine Assistants, which is a local company that is nationally recognized for their work in providing service dogs to people with disabilities.

56th Annual Old Soldiers Day Parade beginning at 8:45 a.m. at Alpharetta City Hall, 2 South Main St.
The festivities begin at City Hall with a performance by the Alpharetta City Band, followed by a program at 9:30 a.m. The parade begins at 10:15 a.m., starting at City Hall, turning west on Old Milton Parkway and ending at the American Legion Post 201 at Wills Rd.
The parade recognizes our country’s war veterans for their service and will include marching bands, military units, floats, clowns, classic cars, and of course, candy.
Free hot dogs, beverages and activities at the parade end at American Legion 201 Wills Rd.

Annual Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk 5K and “World’s Largest Office Party.”
The 26th annual Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk and Fitness Program is the largest corporate-organized fitness event in the Southeast, with more than 18,000 runners/walkers from over 600 Atlanta companies.
The Program is designed to encourage fitness, fun and camaraderie among Atlanta’s business community. The event kicks-off August 4th with a free 8-week fitness program that includes a free Bally Total Fitness membership and monthly fitness tips and culminates on September 25th at 7 p.m. in Downtown Atlanta in the Green Lot adjacent to Turner Field.with the 5K Run/Walk, entertainment and hundreds of company picnics.
Program is open to all individuals 18 and older who sign up with a corporate team. Registration is $25 through 5 p.m. August 25, and $30 until September 25th.
