“Why anyone would drive a tank of propane around in their car when they have a much safer and more convenient option at their disposal defies common sense. Our propane delivery service is the safest way for you to get a tank of propane delivered right to your grill, patio heater, or bug zapper,” says Don Zabkar, Business Development and Franchise Sales Director for Suburban Cylinder Express.

The reality is many consumers take handling and transporting propane for granted. There are many do’s and don’ts, and quite frankly if you don’t have to haul a tank of propane in your car at any time, don’t do it.

“The fact is you should not use, store, or transport your cylinder where it would be exposed to high temperatures. Do you know how hot your trunk gets in the summertime in Atlanta? Too hot for comfort and peace of mind,” says Zabkar. Heat will cause the gas pressure to increase, which may open the relief valve and allow gas to escape.

If you absolutely have to haul a tank of propane back from a local refiller or exchange retailer, take it home immediately and keep your vehicle well ventilated with the cylinder valve closed and plugged or capped. And do not leave the cylinder in the vehicle.

However the best option is having your propane tank delivered. Suburban’s service is simple and easy to use.

While today all standard 20 lb. propane tanks come equipped with an OPD, (Overfill Prevention Device), we make sure that our tanks are precision-filled – meaning they are not under or over-filled. There are propane companies that fill cylinders on high productivity carousels with automatic high flow pumps set at a lower range to prevent over-filling.  Suburban Cylinder Express tanks are individually filled using low speed pumps to assure the consumer is getting the “maximum fill allowable by DOT regulations.” All tanks are coded, inspected, certified, dent and rust free. All SCE drivers are professionally trained and industry certified to dispense and deliver propane.

“We’ll even remove your empty tank and connect the precision-filled replacement tank you ordered,” added Zabkar. In addition to residential service, Suburban Cylinder Express offers the same service to commercial and light industrial users with volume discounts.

Zabkar recommends all grillers have a back-up tank because running empty right before or during a cook-out is a cardinal sin. Suburban offers a program where they’ll never let you run out of propane. It’s called “Grill-On,” and details are available on their website www.grill-on.com.  He also uncovered a new hand-held propane level gauge for consumers he found to be the most reliable accessory on the market that eliminates guessing. It’s called the “Original Grill Gauge,” which he said is available from several internet merchants.

The use of propane continues to reach record consumption levels thanks to the popularity of gas grills and so many other devices on the market today, and delivery is the smartest and safest way to go. All this “peace of mind and convenience” is delivered to your grill for $24.95 per tank, plus applicable local sales tax.

Zabkar believes the long-term trend will only grow with expanded home conveniences and more home delivery services for products like propane, for the obvious reasons stated and the fact that people want to eliminate hassles like hauling propane around in their vehicles. Years ago consumers changed their car’s oil in their driveways, washed their own cars, cut their own lawns, and cleaned their own homes. Now, they’re having their propane delivered right to their grill.

Suburban Cylinder Express, LLC. is a member of the Suburban Propane family of companies - operating since 1928.
