Every Wednesday
Roswell Chapter of GA Leads Business Networking Meeting every Wednesday morning from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. at J. Christophers Restaurant, 605 Atlanta St., Roswell.


The networking group consists of a dynamic mix of entrepreneurs who meet weekly in a highly structured, business focused breakfast session.  The meetings are designed for business people to share leads and ideas.


Membership is by invitation only, but anyone who is interested is encouraged to visit a meeting as a guest.

Riverside Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 8 a.m. - NOON at Riverside Park, 535 Riverside Dr., Roswell.


The market will concentrate on fresh, locally grown produce.  Non profit organizations will be selling coffee and refreshments, local chefs are slated to appear and other fun activities are scheduled.

Every Thursday
Apollo the Dog’s “Paws of Glory” Program every Thursday from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Pooch Porch Cafe, 562 N. Main St., Alpharetta.


Bring your favorite book to read to Apollo and earn a paw on Apollo’s Paws of Glory. 


Reading to Apollo allows for a non-intimidating environment for children that may be self-conscious about reading in front of others.

“An Evening with Wine” from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at 1560 Warsaw Rd., Roswell (next to Mimosa Elementary).


This wine tasting seminar, hosted by Simply Wine, is a unique opportunity to taste and learn about a variety of wines to pair with all types of food. 


Heavy h’or d’oeuvres will be provided and all proceeds will support the Roswell Research Library and Archives.

7th Annual Flying Butterfly Festival from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell.


Witness the thrill of live butterfly releases including monarch and swallowtail butterflies; enjoy butterfly crafts and face painting; learn about the monarch butterfly’s journey through life and more.

The Alpharetta Family Challenge ‘08 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Alpharetta Community Center Event Lawn, 175 Roswell St.


This free special event is designed for families to compete against each other for fun and socialization.  Competitions will include an obstacle course, a three-legged race, a potato sack race and much more.  There will be prizes and concessions.


Family members of all ages are welcome but children must be age 6 and up to compete.  A family “team” must consist of at least one adult and one child (age 6 to 17).

Christian Military Fraternity Luncheon, at NOON, sponsored by First Baptist Church, 710 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell.


The program will be HONOR AIR, the organization that takes World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their memorial at no cost to the vets.  The May 14 flight of veterans from the Roswell area will be reviewed and a video of the trip will be shown.


Cost of the lunch is $10.  Make your reservations no later than noon, July 14 by calling the church.  The general public is welcome to attend.

Fashion Show & Champagne Luncheon at 1 p.m., sponsored by UUMAN Church, 11420 Crabapple Rd., Roswell.


Proceeds to benefit Cherokee County Humane Society.


Along with the fashion show, there will be door prizes, a raffle for gift baskets and gift certificates donated by local merchants, a silent auciton and a 50/50 raffle. There will also be vendors with unique gift items for sale.

7th Annual Youth Fishing Derby hosted by the Alpharetta Recreation & Parks Department from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the lake near Brookside Office Park (east of GA 400 on Old Milton Pkwy).


Children ages 5 - 12 are invited to test their fishing skills.  Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish and the most fish caught.


Participants should bring fishing gear and bait.  Pre-registration is required.  Admission is free.

“Penguin’s Playground” Puppet Show presented by Master Puppeteer Bob Brown at Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.


Join the puppets for an awesome artic adventure, exploring a super-secret playground sitting at the very bottom of the world.

“There’s a Dinosaur in the Closet” Puppet Show presented by Coad Puppets at Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.


Despite his frequent appeals, Darryl is forbidden to keep a pet.  One day he smuggles a large ‘pet’ rock to his room but when it hatches into a small and very hungry dinosaur, Darryl’s problems really begin.
