School is out, the mercury is rising and lounge chairs are difficult to claim at the pool. Yes summer is here, and so are the damaging sun rays that have a way of wreaking havoc on the skin.
North Fulton Regional Hospital and Harry’s Farmers Market are offering ways to get through the lazy days of summer with some tips to keep your skin healthy, young and beautiful. They’ll be teaching how choices you make now can greatly impact the look and feel of your body’s largest organ in the future.
The Basics of Beautiful Skin is the next health event in the monthly seminar series offered through North Fulton Regional Hospital and Harry’s Farmers Market and is intended to teach people about the importance of caring for the skin during the hot summer months and beyond.
The program will run from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15 in the classrooms of North Fulton Regional Hospital. In addition to the program, attendees will also have the opportunity to receive:
• Blood pressure screenings from 5:00-5:30 p.m. with NFRH nurses;
• Free skin care evaluations from 5-5:30 p.m. with program presenter Dr. Mike Majmundar;
• Toxic Sunscreen Swap: Bring your conventional sunscreen to the program and receive a bottle of non-toxic sunscreen from Harry’s Farmer Market. (Limit one swap per family)
There will also be plenty of heart-healthy refreshments provided by Harry’s Farmers Market.
Future seminars will feature topics such as supplements and holiday eating, among others, and all of these programs will be offered at no cost. These free lectures and demonstrations will feature Harry’s Farmers Market chefs and product experts and North Fulton Regional Hospital clinical experts.
Registration for this free seminar is required. For more information about The Basics of Beautiful Skin or to register for the event, call 770-751-2660, or visit www.northfultonregional.com/event, keyword “community calendar.”
