On behalf of our valued advertisers and our truly dedicated Beacon Media editorial and sales team we are proud to announce the launch of the Beacon News Hour, carried live via the Beaconcast.com each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon-1 p.m. As we progress it is our intention to expand our coverage to five days per week.

The Beacon News Hour can be accessed on Beaconcast.com at noon each broadcast day by going to our web site and clicking IPTV. It is that simple. The broadcast is live via online video stream and is made available for podcast immediately following each show, so if you can’t tune in at noon you can access the show in its entirety any time after 1:30 p.m. each broadcast day.

Our primary purpose is to enhance coverage for our readers beyond our weekly news source to a daily platform. We also want to give both our readers and area influencers a more interactive and directly engaged venue with which to air their views, comments and opinions.

And starting this fall, Beaconcast.com will once again be broadcasting live a North Fulton high school football game of the week each and every Friday night, complete with pre- and post-game interviews, game time analysis and instant replays.

As always, it is the Beacon’s goal to inform and engage our readers and viewers, and to present our coverage of events with as much fairness as we can. We know many people find media coverage to be suspect and assume there is an editorial agenda somewhere. While this is a mostly accurate assessment of our industry, it is not our intent to fall into that category. We stumble sometimes, no doubt. More often than not, you our readers, call us on it. You do a great job of holding us accountable to the one thing we all strive to reveal: the truth.

Our format is flexible and dynamic and we encourage your feedback. Our goal is to improve with each broadcast. As a general rule, Tuesday’s show will be focused on local government, Wednesday’s on business and local community events and Thursday’s on high school sports. Each show will feature a guest or two germane to the day’s topic.

The broadcast technology we are utilizing is Internet Protocol Television, referred to as IPTV in the media trade.

We invite you to tune in when you can and catch our show. If you’re busy at noon, you can click on our show any time at your convenience. If nothing else, we will shed light on the most pressing issues facing our North Fulton County communities.

Thanks for reading the Beacon. And now, thanks for watching the Beacon News Hour on Beaconcast.com.
