On June 26, two female co-workers who are also roommates got into a spat over a slammed front door. Sonja Williams told police that her roommate Karen Synder approached her about why she slammed the front door on the way to work. According to Williams, Synder started yelling and then pushed her in the face. Police then escorted Williams from Holiday Inn, where she was working, to her residence, where Synder was.

Upon arrival, police noticed that Synder had a big red bruise on her head and face. According to Synder, she got the bruises when Williams “kicked her in the face at work.” Synder agreed that it was her complaint about the slammed front door that kicked off the melee. Police arrested Williams and charged her with battery.

Waffle House Thief Nabbed
On June 23, David Andrews, 38, of Atlanta, walked into the Waffle House on Old Dogwood Road and robbed it at gunpoint. The suspect asked the cashier if he could buy just a cup of coffee. The suspect then paid the cashier with $2. As soon as the cashier opened the register, Andrews pulled out his gun for the robbery.

Roswell police ended up arresting Andrews after a brief pursuit at the rear of the Brookwood Inn. Andrews was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, obstruction of officers and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. After being arrested and with no prompting, Andrews admitted that he had “stole his mama’s van.”

Kidnappers at large
On June 26, a Roswell man was abducted at gunpoint by two individuals claiming to be with the DEA. The victim stated that a burgundy Ford Expedition pulled up to him at his apartment complex and two men jumped out and put a gun to his head. He told police that they stole his wallet, cell phone and $100 before throwing him in their van. Inside the van, the victim saw two more individuals, bringing the total number of criminals to four. The victim then stated that he was tossed out of the car at River Exchange Parkway. The alleged kidnapping suspects are still on the loose.

Road Rage
On June 25, a Roswell resident was the victim of an aggravated assault resulting from road rage. The victim was traveling on Riverside Road when he attempted to pass a blue Honda because it was going too slow. The unknown assailant then swerved in front of the victim so that he could not pass. The victim then decided it would be safer to remain behind the assailant until he could turn somewhere and get away from the hothead.

After receiving the middle finger, the victim decided to turn into the parking lot of Kids R Kids, and the assailant followed. The suspect then allegedly pulled out a black revolver and said, “I’ll kill you, mother (expletive).” The victim then threatened to call the police and the suspect bolted. The victim was unable to recall the exact license plate of the vehicle.

Battery with keys
On June 26, Roswell Police were called to the UPS store on Woodstock Road in reference to a domestic dispute. When officers arrived, they talked to Steven Carnegie who said that his wife came into the UPS store to argue with him.

He then explained that his wife walked out of the store and began rummaging through his truck. Carnegie then told his wife that if she did not get out of the truck, that he was going to call the police.

At that point, Regine Carnegie began hitting her husband with the car keys before biting him. Police then went to the Carnegie residence to question Regine. She did not deny going into the UPS store to argue and she told police that the only reason she went through her husband’s truck is because she was looking for proof that he was working. She also claimed that Steven grabbed her around her neck. Steven had visible injuries. Regine did not, so police arrested Regine and charged her with battery.
