On June 18, Alpharetta police were called to the local Chuck E. Cheese in reference to a disturbance. When police arrived, they were approached by the manager of the store, who told them that a customer had become boisterous after a video game machine had malfunctioned.

The machine, designed to give out a maximum of 20 tickets in one play, had given out 800. Because of this, Chuck E. Cheese’s technical manager turned the game off. The technical manager gave a stack of tickets to the young boy who had been playing the malfunctioning game when he turned it off.

Suspect Josephine Lee went to the store manager and told him that she was not happy with how the situation was being handled. She demanded that the manager give her son’s friend 2,000 tickets because it was not the boy’s fault that the machine broke. The officer then asked the little boy how many tickets the technical manager had given him when he turned the machine off, the boy told the officer he had received 20 tickets.

Lee then chimed in, “You will talk to me, I’m the adult,” while claiming that the boy was only given eight tickets. The officer said he had to talk to the child because the child could give him a first hand account of what had happened. Lee then got in the officer’s face and was told to back away. Lee then told the officer that this was only happening because he was racist and that she was going to make sure that Channel 2 news would show up. The officers decided to arrest Lee for disorderly conduct. As she was led outside, Lee yelled several profanities before she was finally placed in a cruiser.

Hide your valuables
A rash of car break-ins that began in early June continues to plague Alpharetta. On June 18 in the Bahama Breeze parking lot on Haynes Bridge Road, three separate cars were broken into. Among the items taken by the thieves were an i-Pod, Armani sunglasses, a laptop computer and a U.S. passport. The items stolen from the three victims were valued at over $6,600. The thieves appear to be targeting high value items, so be wary of leaving such items in your car in plain view.
