From Both Sides Now:  Two artistic interpretations in landscape from nature to the inner city opening reception from 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Timothy Michael Gallery, 39 Oak St., Roswell.


The exhibition focus’s on recent works by renowned artists David Eldreth and LeAnn Marie Zafuto.

Riverside Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 8 a.m. - NOON at Riverside Park, 535 Riverside Dr., Roswell.


The market will concentrate on fresh, locally grown produce.  Non profit organizations will be selling coffee and refreshments, local chefs are slated to appear and other fun activities are scheduled.

June 14
6th Annual Back to the Chattahoochee River Race and Festival at 9 a.m.


The race starts at Garrard Landing Park and finishes at Roswell’s Riverside Park, the venue for the festival and awards.


The festival includes live music, food and activities for the children.  Standing on the banks of the Chattahoochee watching hundreds of boats race to the finish line is an experience you won’t want to miss.

2nd Annual Scholarship Breakfast sponsored by Every Woman Works, Inc. from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at Roswell Presbyterian Church, 755 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell.


Every Woman Works, Inc. is a non-profit learning center and their mission statement is “To help women move from dependency to self-sufficiency.”


Karen Handel, Georgia Secretary of State, is the keynote speaker for the breakfast.

Flag Retirement Ceremony conducted by The Piedmont Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution at 11 a.m. at the Northside Chapel Crematory, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell.


The ceremony is a tribute to the service, memory and love of our country and the public is invited to attend.  The Piedmont Color Guard will participate in uniform.

The Dragon Queen puppet show presented by Tanglewood Marionettes at Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.


An underwater fantasy based on Chinese folklore.  Tanglewood Marionettes’ newest show for all ages features colorful sea creatures, an exciting adventure & a Dragon King that will knock your socks off.

“An Arabian Adventures” puppet show presented by Tanglewood Marionettes at Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St.


“An Arabian Adventures” tells the tale of a Persian Prince who is thrown into a dungeon because of his love for a beautiful princess.


Replete with clever stage illusions and lighting effects, this show is an action packed drama that is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

“Steel Magnolias” play performed at Rosewater Theatre every Friday and Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Roswell United Methodist Church Patriotic Celebration
,  814 Mimosa Blvd., Roswell.


The 130-voice RUMC Sanctuary Choir joins forces with the Atlanta Wind Symphony in a musical tribute to our nation.


Performances are Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

SPORTS
June 21
30th Annual Possum Trot 10K and One Mile Fun Run at Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Rd., Roswell.


A certified 10K course for the Peachtree 2008/09.  Run a flat, fast course along the beautiful Chattahoochee River.


The race begins and ends at the nature center, and all proceeds benefit operations for the center.


T-shirts and gift bags given to all runners.  Bottled water, bagels & fruit provided by Whole Foods Market.


Fun Run begins at 7 a.m. and 10K begins at 7:30 a.m.


Entry fee is $22 in advance for the 10K and $15 for the Fun Run.  $25 day of race.
