Madison Cruz with Board Member Liz McFarland at Hembree Springs Elementary School.

The Roswell Youth Lacrosse Association (RYLA) is making a significant donation to Roswell area elementary and middle schools in an effort to introduce local kids to “the fastest game on two feet.” Not only is lacrosse an inherently safe and wildly fun sport, with a history that spans centuries, it holds the distinction of being the oldest sport in North America. With its roots in Native American religion, lacrosse was a tradition to all Native Americans, and was often played to resolve conflicts, heal the sick, build strength and virility, and give thanks.

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the South and Roswell Youth Lacrosse hosts the largest lacrosse event in the Southeast each year at Roswell Area Park. During the month of October, the RYLA will make a donation of 1000 sticks and balls to Roswell area schools in order to promote and educate kids about this exciting sport as well as to help out the schools.
