On the morning of September 6, a white male entered the BB&T bank on Windward Parkway, ordering the teller to hand over money.   According to the teller, the suspect’s pockets were bulging, but at no point was a firearm seen. Once the suspect had the money, he left the building. The suspect was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, was approximately 6 feet, 2 inches in height, weighing around 230 pounds and last seen wearing gray sweat pants with a sweatshirt. If members of the public have any information on this man, please contact the police. Alpharetta PD Arrest Five in Drive-By Shooting On the afternoon of August 31, a call was made to 9-1-1 about gunshots that had been fired in the Wedgewood Forest subdivision on Webb Bridge Road. According to the caller, a blue car had pulled up in front of her house and two black males had run from the car to the rear of her home. Then the gunshots were heard. A total of seven shots had been fired into the woman’s front door from a 9mm gun before the shooter and accomplices fled. There were no injuries within the house. Within minutes of the call, Alpharetta Police had pulled over a vehicle that matched the description of the shooter’s car and searched it. Within they found a 9mm handgun, and the passengers of the car, two black males and two black females, were taken into custody. A fifth suspect, and the supposed shooter, was arrested after an undercover operation later in the afternoon. Peeping Tom On the night of August 29 a report of a peeping tom was taken by Milton PD. When officers appeared on the scene the woman who made the report stated that she opened her window to let in fresh air when she noticed a man standing at the window, attempting to remove the screen. The woman called to the man that she was going to call the cops at which point he fled. There are no suspects. The man was dark skinned, 5 feet 11 inches-6 feet tall, wearing a gray sweatshirt with a hood over his head. Alleged Car Thief Jacked On August 28, an officer in an unmarked car had been patrolling for suspected car thieves in the North Point Mall area, an area known for vehicle break-ins. In the course of his patrol, he came across a car whose operator was driving up and down the parking lot while riding very low in his seat. He did not appear to be looking for a parking space. After a while he left the parking lot and headed toward the AMC cinema down the road with the officer following. At this point, the car began weaving in and out of the lanes of traffic. The officer pulled the man over. Daniel William Baxter, 22, of Ball Ground, was discovered to have an outstanding warrant for breaking into cars in Cherokee county and was duly arrested. According to police, when officers searched his car, they found marijuana, scales, several large knives and a screwdriver. The police report noted that criminals use screwdrivers and knives to punch holes in the doors of cars to open them. Baxter was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related material, failure to maintain his lane, driving on a suspended license, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
