Thank you, Roswell

Just six short months ago we debuted our very first Roswell Beacon.

Since then your ongoing support, enthusiastic encouragement, dedicated readership and determined patronage of our advertisers have helped weave us into the fabric of our community.

I would like to share with you several new and exciting developments. These have only been made possible because of your support.

First and foremost, we have two senior staff additions. Paul Kaplan, former Sunday editor and reporter with the AJC, senior correspondent with the Washington Star and city editor with the Miami News, has joined the Beacon. Paul will be responsible for news analysis and content.

Al Levine, former feature writer with the AJC and previous executive sports editor in Fort Lauderdale has joined us as well. Al has published a book on the Miami Dolphins’ 1972 undefeated season and was named 2001 national motor sports writer of the year for his NASCAR coverage. Al will be covering the city of Milton, contributing a wide range of feature stories and also leading our photography team.

Today marks the inaugural editions of both the Alpharetta Beacon and the Milton Beacon. These publications give Beacon Media Company a total U.S. mailed circulation of 70,000 copies per week and provide our advertising community with the ability to reach 100 percent of Roswell, Alpharetta and Milton in a seamless environment representing some of the most coveted households in the Southeast.

We are also proud to present our first annual “High School Football Preview,” which is designed to provide you with insight, analysis and perspective on our local teams this season.

Beaconcast.com is planning to broadcast live via the Internet a local high school game of the week. Check Beaconcast.com each week for further details.

Beacon Media Companies is also excited to announce the relocation of our corporate headquarters to Hunter Management’s Wilton Center on September 1. Our new address will be 515 Crossville Road, Suite 350, Roswell. Please stop by and visit us anytime.

As always, we welcome your suggestions and feedback.

Thank you, Roswell.
