I applaud and concur with the letter to the editor written in your July 8 issue of the Beacon, regarding our severe drought/water-banning issues. Mim Eisenberg, asked why we residents of Roswell can’t be given an answer to the question: Why should long-time residents be penalized for the sake of newcomers? While new construction, both business and residential, seems to be running rampant, we who have lived here for over a decade must endure restrictions to our lifestyle, both transportation-wise, and with water restrictions and fines. The watering of all this new landscaping alone, as well as our roads being left unrepaired and often outdated and inadequate for all of the increased traffic, is enough to make one despair of maintaining our lovely Roswell quality of life. Can't someone out there help to convince our city fathers to end this senseless condition? What can we, as homeowners and voting citizens, do to convince the powers that be that we want answers? I think your newspaper is a wonderful addition to our community and look forward to future issues.
