After reading my certainly inarticulate quote in your newspaper concerning the Charlie Brown Project which was, essentially, “it is an important project – it is a non-issue, no one supports it,” I feel some clarification is in order.

I believe that the debate and discussion around what is currently known as the Charlie Brown proposal is important and the more the better. This proposal has focused a large part of our community, and the Beacon, on two questions which have been ignored until they have become serious problems: (1) “What are we going to do with all this raw land in Roswell, not to mention all those empty shopping centers?” and (2) “What in the world will we do to fix Roswell’s worst intersection, Holcomb Bridge Road at Georgia 400?” The more views and input we can get, the better.

Still, the Charlie Brown proposal is dead. No one is in favor of it. The only two people who, apparently, are not aware of this are my City Council election opponent, who will have nothing to campaign on without this issue, and the editorial staff of the Beacon, which will be left without banner headline material. Hence, both are acting like the proposal still has a chance of passing.
